Stun Guns
. . . Keeping You Safe
More and more people are feeling the need for extra protection these days, particularly women. Girls and women can find themselves in extremely vulnerable situations very quickly, and knowing that they have a stun gun handy should certainly not encourage them to take unnecessary risks, but give them a little peace of mind if they do find themselves in a potentially dangerous situation.
Stun Guns are the second most popular product for self defense (after pepper spray), although in many ways they are more efficient because they still work if the winds blowing. With a pepper spray you have to pretty much aim it in the right direction, whereas a zap with a stun gun will give the right effect just about anywhere on the body, buying you more time to escape to safety.
Stun Guns are not designed to maim or injure your assailant, but simply to give you adequate time to escape or get help . . . that’s something which you must always bear in mind. Actually, just showing proof of your stun gun will sometimes do the trick, without ever having to make contact with a potential assailant.
Stun Guns these days are becoming much more “user friendly” as they get smaller yet maintain the same effectiveness. I mean, take a look at the photo, you can even get them which look remarkably like a cell phone, but they carry something much more powerful than a text message! Conveniently sized to fit in your pocket or handbag, no wonder millions of Americans never leave home with them.
One quick demonstration zap is often all that’s needed . . . don’t mess with me, my cell phone is fully charged and ready for action!
Tips on How To Use a Stun Gun
Maybe you’re thinking of arming yourself with a stun gun, or buying one for your wife / girlfriend / sister to keep her safe whilst she’s taking the dog out or jogging through the park. Anyway, they are extremely simple to use as you’ll soon find out when you read these red hot tips on how to use a stun gun!
- Stun Guns need to be charged (just like your mobile phone). It’s recommended that you charge up your stun gun at least once a week to be on the safe side.
- Stun Guns need to be kept handy. It’s no good having to dig about at the bottom of your purse when you feel yourself in a tricky situation, rummaging amongst your lipstick, house keys and half pack of mints, always make sure that your stun gun is easily to hand when you’re walking through potentially dangerous areas like parks, dark roads and paths or other isolated places.
- Stun Guns do work almost anywhere on the body, but there are some areas which are more effective than others. You’ll probably get a diagram with your new stun gun, learn them, you never know when you might need them. Briefly they form a kind of line up your inner arms and across your chest, as well as the groin area (ouch), upper legs and abdomen. You do want maximum effect so that you have as much time as possible to make your escape.
- Stun Guns give out a zap for around 3 – 5 seconds (depending on how high voltage your stun gun is) which should be plenty. Simply press your stun gun into one of the most effective stun areas and fire.
- Stun Guns will not give you a “blast back”, even if your assailant is touching you, so don’t worry about that.
- Stun Guns only work when they are switched on! (Maybe that should have been closer to the top).
- Stun Guns are easy to use but you will get better with practice. Practice, practice, practice, and then if you ever are in the unfortunate situation of really needing to use your stun gun for your own safety, it will all be second nature.
- Stun Guns are great, but like I said earlier, they are only designed to buy you more time to escape or find help. Don’t take unnecessary risks even if you do have a stun gun in your pocket, and always have a plan B just in case.
Is that a cell phone in your pocket or are you getting ready to zap me with your stun gun?
Jeeze, did you see that? He dropped like a ton of bricks. When I said practice, practice, practice, I didn’t mean on your husband!
Do not let your boyfriend, brother or any of his mates loose with your stun gun after a night out . . . they’re just not responsible enough to use it properly! The things some people will do in the name of fun!
